Principal's Message

Welcome to Wylie Elementary School. It is our goal to provide exceptional educational opportunities in an environment that will encourage a life time of learning.  Wylie Elementary utilizes the best practices and understands the importance of student engagement, a rigorous learning environment, and the importance of connecting and building relationships with our students to attain academic success.  We will also help to develop positive character and leadership in our students.  We will work together as a school and community to secure success for all of our students.  We will strive to develop creative, intellectual, leaders with the skills necessary to succeed in life.  We will work hard to develop academically, socially, physically, and emotionally well rounded successful individuals.

We invite you to be an active participant in the education of our students. We would like to encourage you to volunteer to make copies, volunteer in the library, become a member of PTO, or help with some of our special events. With your parental support we will achieve the highest academic success possible.

Our teachers will keep you informed through weekly newsletters and as well as our web page. If you have any questions we encourage you to contact your child’s teacher or myself. We will be happy to help you. Our teachers and staff look forward to building a relationship with you and your family.

Sincerely

Lisa Bessent

WE ARE GOING GREEN!!

Starting the 4th six-weeks, all report cards will be paperless. Parents will receive an emailed progress report from student's teachers if he or she has below a 75 at that time, rather than receiving one in the mail. At the end of each six weeks, you may access report cards approximately a week after the end of the grading period. All previous report cards have already been posted on Family Access, and they will continue to be there. In order to view any report card, simply log in to your Family Access account and click on "Portfolio" on the menu bar located on the left of the screen. There you will see the list of all posted report cards, and you may click on to view and print those at any time.

Read-a-thon Will Start February 20, 2018

This year, we are excited to announce that we will hold a Read-a-thon fundraiser. Our Read-a-thon is a program that brings students together with family and friends to encourage reading and to build literacy skills. The main focus of the Read-a-thon is for everyone to know we are committed to improving reading skills. To that end, the Read-a-thon promises to be a fun, exciting journey for all participants as they begin a personal Reading Adventure that challenges each reader to complete 10 reading sessions over our 2-week event.
